Dyed Polished Concrete System

The premium choice for automotive garages, showrooms, retail spaces, high-end shops, restaurants, or any interior where you want a stunning, true polished concrete floor with rich, customizable color—delivering a timeless, marble-like shine and durability that lasts for decades with minimal upkeep.

Unlike our Grind and Seal (a "faux polish" that relies on a topical sealer for shine and requires periodic resealing), true polished concrete mechanically refines the slab itself through progressive diamond grinding/honing/polishing to ultra-fine grits. The reflective finish comes from the concrete's own surface (densified and burnished), not a coating—making it inherently tougher, more stain-resistant, and far lower-maintenance long-term. Adding dye midway creates translucent, vibrant hues that enhance the natural aggregate exposure without hiding imperfections, giving a modern, artistic depth.

Our professional true polish process:

  • Initial grinding — Start with shot blasting or coarse diamond tooling (e.g., 30–70 grit) to remove contaminants, old coatings, minor scratches, or laitance and expose fresh aggregate.
  • Honing & mid-process dye — Progress through finer grits (typically 100–400 grit, depending on concrete hardness and desired aggregate exposure). Midway (often around 200–400 grit when the surface is open enough for penetration but smooth enough for even color), we apply translucent concrete dyes (solvent-based acetone dyes or water-based for eco-friendly options). These penetrate deeply for rich, consistent tones—applied via HVLP sprayer in even, overlapping passes. Dye highlights the concrete's natural character (mottling, aggregate) rather than covering it, allowing for custom colors (earth tones, bold accents, or multi-color patterns) while the slab remains breathable.
  • Densification — Apply a penetrating liquid densifier/hardener (lithium or sodium silicate-based) to react with the concrete, fill pores, increase hardness/abrasion resistance, and lock in the dye for vibrant, long-lasting color.
  • Final polishing — Continue honing/polishing with finer resin-bond diamonds (800–3000+ grit) to achieve your desired sheen: matte/satin (lower levels) to high-gloss mirror finish. Burnish for extra reflectivity.
  • Optional guard/sealer — Apply a penetrating guard or light topical protector for added stain/chemical resistance and easier cleaning (not required for the polish itself, but enhances performance in high-use areas).

Why customers choose the Dyed Polished Concrete System:

  • True polished finish — Permanent shine and smoothness from the slab itself (not a faux coating)—extremely durable, dust-proof, and resistant to wear, oils, spills, and heavy foot/vehicular traffic.
  • Custom translucent dye — Added midway for vibrant, even color that enhances natural mottling/aggregate—endless shade options for a unique, artistic look without overpowering the concrete's character.
  • Superior longevity & low maintenance — Unlike Grind and Seal (which needs resealing every couple of years as the topical coating wears), true polished concrete requires almost no reapplication—occasional cleaning, buffing, or minor guard touch-ups keep it pristine for 10–20+ years.
  • High-end aesthetic — Bright, reflective, exposed-aggregate elegance that brightens spaces and feels luxurious—perfect for visible areas.
  • Tailored process — We adjust grit progression, dye timing, and densifier based on your concrete's hardness, condition, and desired exposure/color depth.
  • Premium value — Higher upfront investment than Grind and Seal, but unbeatable lifetime cost—eco-friendly, no VOC-heavy topcoats needed, and built to last.
